Harmony Day is Thursday 21st March

On this day we will celebrate the cultural diversity of our wonderful country with a day of classroom cultural activities and encouraging students to wear a ‘Splash of Orange’. During the middle session, students will be in mixed year level groups and rotate around various classrooms taking part in cultural activities from various countries, e.g., Greek dancing in S10. Students will also work on a Kingsley Park mural, ‘Everyone Belongs’ by each completing a Jigsaw Puzzle piece that is to be made into a large jigsaw to be displayed through the corridor showing that everyone belongs at Kingsley Park whilst raising the awareness of inclusivity and acceptance for all.

We hope students will join in the fun and wear either a touch of Orange or come dressed in clothing of a country of origin as it is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism.

Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it. Harmony Day and Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
